His character, Brincos Dieras, was actually a result of a career-defining improv. During a gig at a church, Roberto Carlos colored his face with makeup and put on a ridiculous-looking hat. He named this new character “Brincos Dieras” and stuck to it for the rest of his career. "By mistake, I became a clown,” Carlos shared in a statement. He also added that the key to his success is that he can have fun anywhere, “From there, I continue doing what I love the most."
