American Midwest Ballet first premiered the magical journey of The Wizard of Oz in 2019 as Dorothy discovered the best of friends, the worse of enemies and that there is no place like home. It was such a roaring success, transporting audiences to that world and dazzling them with dancing and theatrical flair, that, once again, they are taking to the stage to transport audiences to that beloved land, Oz. Frank Baum’s novel was the beginning of the legend that The Wizard of Oz became, a classic novel that was then adapted to the now classic 1939 film, were the iconic Judy Garland gave eternal life to the Kansas girl, Dorothy. It is no mean fete to produce an adaptation that will rival these two timeless pieces, but the American Midwest Ballet are ready and excited to do it again. They keep to the unforgettable story but add their own style with a ballet twist, with choreographer, Erin Alarcón, and now ballet master at American Midwest Ballet, creating beautiful pieces that flow with the story and will have you donning red, ruby slippers and dancing down the yellow brick road with them. Don’t miss out and secure your tickets today.
