So much happened in the land of Oz before Dorothy arrived, and luckily, we have Wicked to tell the story. One of the most triumphant plays in the history of the Broadway circuit is going to be showing inside Orpheum Theatre on Thursday 2nd July 2026 at 7:30 PM as part of the Wicked North American Tour. The light and the darkness meet on the stage while some of the top songs that you know and love from this classic ring out in the halls of Orpheum Theatre. Before you know it, you're going to be experiencing "Defying Gravity" and "The Wizard and I." This is a performance that was brilliantly constructed to be a stage show, and boy, does it prove it! Featuring Jessie Davidson as Elphaba and Zoe Jensen as Glinda, this touring production brings the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical to life.
Perhaps one of the reasons why Wicked has been so successful both on Broadway and through these tours is that the story doesn't need a super elaborate stage design or gimmicks. Top-notch lighting and the incredible costume designs, paired with some of the elite performers to hit NYC, have been enough to lead this production to multiple Tony wins, a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, and over 50 major awards overall, plus sold-out shows. Yet, since the story and the look and feel are well-known at this point, the audience isn't as tied to a specific element in production to experience Wicked. This makes it a great show to see on the road! A perfect example of the opposite is the Tiger animatronic from Life of Pi. That's an remarkable engineering accomplishment, and it looks amazing when it works, but it's a little harder to take that show on the road. With Wicked, oddly enough, you don't need a lot to realize you've set foot in the land of Oz.
It can be a little tempting to pick a spot on the front row to experience Wicked live, yet people in the know say it's one of the worst places to see a show. There's a reason why the rich and famous used to sit in the boxes on the upper levels. Try to find a spot toward the middle of the theater, quite a few rows removed from the stage. Those seats will offer the best glimpse of the land of Oz and the story unfolding between the witches. The historic Orpheum Theater offers 2,600 seats across multiple levels including orchestra and balcony sections.
Right now, you can obtain seats to see Wicked for $87. Click the "Buy Tickets" link as soon as possible to make sure you don't miss this performance. The show runs approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes with one intermission and is recommended for ages 8+.
Please see below the Orpheum Theatre seating chart for the Wicked event on 2 July 2026. The ticket price will vary depending on the seating section. Compare different sections to find the cheapest Wicked tickets. For accessible seating please contact Orpheum Theatre directly.
