THE PLOT

A young woman Sophie is getting married to her fiance Sky. She longs for her father to walk her down the aisle. However, she had never met her father. Meanwhile, her mother Donna claims that he does not know who Sophie’s father is. In hope to meet her real father, Sophie reads Donna’s diary and discovers that she had three love interests during the time before she was born. She invited all three, Sam CarMichael, Bill Austin, and Harry Bright, to the wedding. The three men accepted the invitation with the impression that Donna was the one who invited them. Upon arriving at the wedding destination, Donna was surprised to see them all. Will Sophie find out who her real father is? And will Donna reunite with one of her love interests? CREATIVE TEAM & CAST

The musical features the astounding catalog from legendar pop band ABBA. All the songs were written and composed by ABBA members Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson. The musical’s book is writte by playwright Catherine Johnson. Tony nominated director Phylidia Lloy leads the production on this one with the help of Tony nominated choreographer Anthony Van Laast. The musical also featured the work of remarkable theater designers including Olivier Award winner Mark Thompson on production, Olivier Award winner  Howard Harrison on lighting, Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken on sound, and Martin Koch on musical supervision. 

The cast is also a spectacular line up of excellent theater artists. Christine Sherill plays Donna Sheridan, Amy Weaver is Sophie Sheridan, Rob Marnell is Harry Bright, Jim Newman is Bill Austin, Victor Wallace is Sam CarMichael, and Grant Reynolds is Sky.

Mamma Mia! is deemed the most successful jukebox musical of all time. The show has been enjoyed by over 70 million people and has collected a gross earnings of $4.5 billion globally. In addition to its commercial success, the production also secured a number of prestigious accolades, including a Laurence Olivier Award (out of three nominations), five Tony nominations, including Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical, and two Drama Desk nominations. In 2003, the touring production secured Helen Hayes nomination and won the Best Musical Score at the Touring Broadway Awards. The Broadway production of Mamma Mia! has been in demand for so long that it ran for a total of 15 years, making it the ninth longest running Broadway musical of all time. The musical is also so successful that a film adaptation was released in 2008 and became a global box office hit.
