SYNOPSIS
Late in the 21st century, Helperbots, originally created to assist humans with daily tasks have fallen out of favor as later, better upgrades arrived on the market. Oliver and Claire, both older models, have been sent to a retirement facility for robots that have become obsolete and no longer of use to the human race.
When Claire’s battery pack malfunctions, she is forced to step out of her daily routine and ask her neighbor Oliver for a charger. What started as an awkward situation and exchange, soon develops into a unique friendship when the two outdated robots decide to go on an adventure and break free from their mundane existence. During their travels, they start experiencing human-like emotions – something they were never programmed to experience to begin with. Exploring a newfound love, feelings of joy and excitement, the two robots are soon faced with the inevitable: limited lifespans and loss.
Maybe Happy Ending is a poignant, captivating look into what it truly means to experience love and loneliness, and to be faced with questions of mortality in a world where feelings have become cold – very much like the modern world we ourselves live in. The production delivers an emotional punch amidst the fun, and asks powerful, significant questions amidst the perceived irrelevance and awkwardness of a story set in the future.
“The best, most original, most beautiful musical in eons!” – Rex Reed

THE ORPHEUM THEATRE OMAHA
Everybody and their Helperbot-3 model knows that the iconic Orpheum Theatre, situated on 409 S 16th Street, Omaha, is the place to go for everything Broadway, the best music performances, and the overall best live entertainment in Nebraska. Here lonely nights turn into artistic adventures, mundanity into something extraordinary, and expectations into unexpected, memorable highlights.
The Orpheum Theatre is a historic landmark dating back to 1926, when the original venue was expanded into a downtown movie theatre. After major renovations in 1975, 2002, and 2017, the Orpheum Theatre turned into a massive attraction, featuring spectacular French Renaissance architecture with gilded vaulted ceilings, gorgeous Czech chandeliers, crimson draperies, elegant details, and a Wurlitzer organ. The two lobbies – the Grand Lobby and the Lauritzen Lobby – boast intricate wrought iron railings, marble countertops, and three chandeliers that recreate the atmosphere of the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles. The auditorium, known as the Slosburg Hall, features an ornate proscenium arch, and luxurious seating for up to 2,600 across an orchestra floor, a loge, a grand tier, a balcony, and gallery.
The Orpheum Theatre is the perfect amalgamation of historic and modern, with its great amenities including easily accessible seating, an exclusive VIP lounge, parking accessible via a covered skywalk, full bars, refreshment stands, and merchandise booths. The venue also boasts crisp, clear acoustics, perfect sight-lines from all seats, and some of the best sound and lighting equipment around.
