There’s NOTHING like the classics and night’s filled with our favorite shows here at the Orpheum where we LOVE all our plays and theatrical shows that keep us coming back for way way more. And NOW - in 2026 with a bold and refreshing twist on a story we all love the most - we’re back here in the heart of the city with a new spin on Wicked : the acclaimed novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire, and based on the classic book and play The Wizard of Oz, a story we all know and love! The musical that’s been running for DECADES and recently just had its major cinema debut in the Hollywood upper echelons - if you DIDN’T get a chance to make it to the movies over the last few months, how about a day at the play? Because when they’re gone folks, they’re gone! Hitting stages all across the country and back to today - ready for our oh so perfect matinee? 

Taking a deeper look into Wicked tells us the entire backstory behind one of Oz’s most iconic witches - letting us in on the backstory for the Oz mainstay characters, and creating a breathtaking story along the way! At the heart of the mastermind production is the unlikely and powerful friendship between Elphaba and Glinda, aka the forces that challenge EVERYTHING we think we know about “good” and “evil.” Elphaba - AKA futurely-known-as the Wicked Witch of the West - is revealed to be a deeply empathetic, intelligent, and fiercely principled woman, while Glinda’s journey shows how kindness, ambition, and responsibility can exist side by side. The two meet each other while in university, get into some life changing adventures, and then, well… the rest is history! Trust us you’re gonna have to watch it live. Featuring a score packed with unforgettable songs like “Defying Gravity,” “Popular,” and “For Good,” Wicked delivers its message of acceptance, courage, and individuality in a way that stays with audiences long after the curtain falls. The highest grossing musical production of all time and earning billions of dollars worldwide - the play has also won Three Tony Awards, Seven Drama Desk Awards, and a few GRAMMYs here and there too!
