It’s no easy feat for a musical to descend upon Broadway and scoop up three Tony Awards, seven Drama Desk Awards, and a Grammy Award for the original cast album, but Wicked’s done it. It is also no easy feat for a brand new musical to smash box office records around the world, while joining The Phantom of The Opera and The Lion King atop the list of productions that grossed over $1 billion, and later taking the place of the world’s second-highest selling musical, but Wicked has. Frank Baum's classic novel, ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’, follows the friendship of Glinda and Elphaba - who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West - before Dorothy’s arrival. With a deep exploration of personalities at odds, conflicting viewpoints, and a shared love interest, and the With themes of unlikely friendships, conflicting viewpoints, love, and social issues, everybody and anybody is bound to get drawn into the enthralling storyline, quippy theatrics, well-developed characters, and, of course, composer Stephen Schwartz’s soaring and memorable melodies.

The fact is that the audience will be left totally ‘bewitched’|an entire audience will leave the Orpheum Theatre, feeling that saying that it was nice, would be an understatementsimply wouldn’t cut it.
